Lille 2009- YAY!!!

Well, let me just say, it was fun. And incredibly tiring.......:D
It is a four-hour bus ride, and the bus left at seven o' clock. Which means I had to get up at 5:30. And we only came back at school at 22:00.
We first had to go through the "old city," the oldest part of Lille, with a map and a set of questions we had to answer. Unfortunately, nobody in my group( six people in total) had a map or was any good in French, so we it was ievitable that we got lost.
You know how people always say that French people are arrogant? I always used to think that was a stereotype, but really, IT'S TRUE. They refuse to speak English. If you say something to them in English, they either answer back in French (yeah, that's really helpful) or they just walk away or ignore you. Well, gee, THAT'S nice. Which annoys me, seeing as Dutch people always try so hard to help the tourists in their own country and the bloody French won't do the same for them.
But anyway.......yes, so I was forced to say everything in French, the only one in my group who was any good at it. After being lost for about two hours Mattie came upon the bright idea to ask someone for directions.....except she asked some Polish junkie who could speak neither French nor English, and kinda pointed us in the wrong direction.....
But anyway, all turned out well. After finishing our questions, it was shoppping time!!! And I finally got to eat a real French bakery........yummmmm.........it is quite amazing how many different kinds of bread you can come up with....

Anyhow....pictures:
